I have been around music for as long as I remember and learned my first instrument at the age of 11. I play trumpet, keys, guitar, bass and drums. I primarily use these gifts for praise and for writing music. I’m not a professional audio engineer by any stretch of the imagination but I do record my own music. The songs that you’ll find here are just a few demos I have written and recorded that I hope to one day have professionally produced. I hope you enjoy! Blessings!
I wrote this song the night of December 6th, 2018. Earlier that evening, I was feeling like I completely missed my opportunity for marriage. This song was my prayer to God that I would continue to trust and wait on Him no matter how long it would take. Why? Because His sovereignty and timing is perfect! This song is dedicated to my future spouse. Whoever she is…
“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

This song is named after a county road in Clovis, New Mexico. There isn’t anything special about this road. It is a typical worn down road with a lot of bumps and cracks. The most memorable thing about this road however is it’s the road I took when I moved from Clovis to Lubbock in 2015. This song is about me leaving behind 20 years of memories in Clovis, some good and plenty I’d rather forget, and looking forward to the next chapter of my life. In a way, life is similar to a journey on a broken road. The journey can be lengthy and tough at times. We may not know exactly where we’re going but the destination is always worth the journey as long as God is behind the wheel!
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6

I wrote this song during a season of difficulty and uncertainty. In this year alone, 2018, I was faced with an IRS deficit that I couldn’t afford, a discouraging end of a ministry, an untimely wreck that resulted in the totaling of my car which was almost paid off, and an expensive ER visit that my HDHP didn’t cover. Despite everything going wrong for me, God came through for me in an overwhelming way and met ALL of my needs! At times, our problems can appear impossible to conquer and often overwhelm us; however, God NEVER fails to see us through and ALWAYS comes to our rescue!
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17

A simple song I wrote following one of the most discouraging times of my life as a Christian. Even though things don’t go according to plan, there is solace in the fact that God is still in control and He will carry us through.
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8

The inspiration from this song came from an event that happened in my life on Jan 1st, 2015. I was coming back home from Denver, Colorado celebrating the new year with a few of my friends. It was somewhere on NM State Road 39 when I looked up from inside the vehicle and noticed the night sky. The stars were beautiful and reminded me of how great God is. At the time, I was still healing from a heartbreak and that night I was overwhelmed with peace and assurance that everything was going to be ok.
“so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” Philippians 2:15
